Source: Goulson Insurance analysis of the CMS CY2027 Plan Crosswalk (October 1, 2026), the CMS CY2026 and CY2027 Landscape files, and CMS Monthly Enrollment by Contract, Plan, State and County (October 2026). Each row adds the members of S5617-108 and S5617-372 who live in that county. CMS hides county counts of 10 or fewer members, and in October 2026 it hid at least one of the two counts in 83 Texas counties, so the state totals are minimums; every county in the table was published in full. What the new plan ID means for you
S5715-014 is the 2027 ID of HealthSpring Assurance Rx (PDP) in Texas: CMS lists it as a consolidated renewal of S5617-108, S5617-372 and S5715-014, not as a new plan. In Texas, the CMS 2026 Landscape file lists HealthSpring Assurance Rx (PDP) S5617-108, HealthSpring Extra Rx (PDP) S5617-372 and Blue Cross MedicareRx Basic (PDP) S5715-014, and the 2027 file lists S5715-014 as HealthSpring Assurance Rx (PDP), with Health Care Service Corporation as the parent organization in every case, so a 2027 letter or plan comparison that shows S5715-014 is about this plan. The 2027 plan uses S5715-014, the 2026 ID of Blue Cross MedicareRx Basic (PDP): CMS requires a consolidated plan to keep the 2026 ID of one of the plans it combines. It renews automatically on January 1 with every change listed in its Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), which can include the premium, the deductible, the pharmacies and the drug list, so read yours before December 7; our guide to the ANOC letter shows what to check first. In 2027 the name HealthSpring Extra RX (PDP) belongs to a different Texas plan, S5715-005, which was Blue Cross MedicareRx Value (PDP) in 2026; the crosswalk does not move S5617-372 members into it.
Comparing drug plans for 2027
If the plan still suits you after its 2027 changes, you can let it renew. If it does not, you can switch during the Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 through December 7, to another stand-alone drug plan or, if you would rather leave Original Medicare, to a Medicare Advantage plan that includes drug coverage, where one is offered in your county, and the new plan starts January 1. Texas has 10 stand-alone drug plans in the CMS 2027 Landscape file, down from 12 in 2026. Drug plans differ in premiums, deductibles, pharmacies and which drugs they cover, so the useful comparison runs your own prescriptions through each plan. Our guide to Part D premiums in 2027 explains what drug plans cost. Goulson Insurance does not offer every plan; Medicare.gov and 1-800-MEDICARE list all of them, and 1-800-MEDICARE is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Check another plan ID
